How I’ve Transformed My Health With The Amazing Liver & Gallbladder Flush

Just a few years ago, I was struggling with a laundry list of symptoms and there was no amount of herbs that I could take or healthy food I could eat in order to find relief. My blood sugar levels and digestion were a mess, I was round and puffy all over and I had to numerous serious food sensitivities which made my life difficult, to say the least, especially while traveling the world teaching. While I still managed to get myself together and inspire others, inside I was frustrated, hopeless, felt completely enslaved by food and had a bad case of ‘imposter syndrome’ (I felt like such a phony). I was far from free.

Thankfully, my prayers were answered and I found out about a health protocol that changed my life forever. You can read more about my story and experience with The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush HERE. Since then, I have restructured by health with the completion of 16 Flushes as well as a complementary Kidney Flush. While I have listened to my body and have taken breaks from the flush series when needed, I know that there’s still more for me to go. While I believe that am getting closer to being stone-free, I thought I would share an update on my progress.

The fact that I’ve done 16 and am still going may seem shocking or extreme to some of you, especially because I regularly take such good care of myself. However, a number of flushes necessary to clean out the liver completely vary from person to person and depends on both their past and present, physical, mental and emotional habits. I have had a lot of time to sit with this and I’ve been able to connect the dots to see how my liver got to be congested, to begin with. I will explain this in this article so that you can get an idea of how even the healthiest eaters can benefit from a series of flushes.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), each organ system is related to a particular emotion. The liver and gallbladder (considered one system in TCM) are related to the fiery emotions of anger which includes aggression, rage, frustration, resentment, etc. Now, at first, I like many people, immediately thought “but I am not an angry person”, and herein lies the problem. Each and every one of us has the ability to be angry, but just because we don’t express it outwardly, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t exist! In fact, when we have unexpressed anger it collects, for the most part in the liver, but when it reaches its capacity, the toxic energy will settle in other tissues of the body.

Let me give you an example. My whole life growing up, I was a people pleaser. I was always quite concerned with making sure everyone was happy before myself, in fact, I had very little sense of self and took on everyone else’s shit. This means, I would say and do things that I knew others would want, completely ignoring and denying my own emotions and needs. This is an extremely common means of what is called ‘giving your power away’.

Now, what I have learned and experienced first hand is that while it may not affect you consciously in the moment, your innermost self keeps the score. When we are out of touch with or choose to go against our inner wisdom, we let ourselves down and when this is done over and over again, well, you can imagine how disappointed and ANGRY we become. Again, we are unaware of most of this because we have become masters of suppressing and repressing our emotions. We simply do what we have always done.

The kicker is, in order to keep the lid on these emotions, we usually lean on numbing, distracting and sabotaging tactics such as busyness, food, drug, sex or stimulant ‘habits’ or addictions, which only perpetuate the problem. Personally, I have both a past encoded with endless acts of giving my power away through people pleasing but also through disordered eating habits and subsequent substance abuse. Needless to say, I really did a number on my body in my youth (and I’ve forgiven myself for this).

So, perhaps now you are getting a fuller picture of what can cause such a buildup in these vital eliminative organs. In addition to poor food choices and the crutches listed above, there are many other lifestyle factors that contribute to liver congestion including irregular sleep and eating habits, dehydration, overeating (volume or frequency), stress levels, smoking, etc. If you have checked off a few of these, chances are you may have some stones in your liver. For more on this read HERE and HERE.

Beginning the work of unpacking and releasing these pent-up emotions can be a transformative process. Personally, with each cleanse that I have done, I have found more freedom and clarity, mentally, physically and emotionally. There have been flushes where I’ve released hundreds of stones and others with very few stones but instead heat, rage, and anger. When I feel those emotions come over me, usually triggered by someone or something in my present experience, I am able to separate the two and instead find a healthy outlet for my newfound aggression. My favourite is yelling at the top of my lungs or beating the crap out of a pillow (I highly recommend this!).

Rage, stones or both, it’s better out than in! Having less toxic anger in my system means more freedom in all areas of life. Mentally and emotionally, my baseline is calm, centered and balanced, a definite improvement from anxious and neurotic! As well, I am happy to report that all of the physical symptoms mentioned above, gradually cleared up as the series of flushes progressed. Today, I feel better than I ever thought possible! Naturally, when you aren’t stressed about your body and managing with symptoms all day, you have more energy available to channel into the things that matter such as serving your purpose and building the life of your dreams!

If you are feeling stuck, hopeless and helpless like I was, I recommend reading more about The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush Protocol by Andres Mortiz. I have written extensively about my experience HERE and outlined the protocol from his legendary book HERE. More than anything, this protocol makes it easy to confidently take your health matters into your hands and know that you have the ability to transform yourself at will. Now that is empowering!!

If you feel called to this protocol trust that inner inkling, perhaps a deeper part of you knows how much you really need it. While doing these flushes may seem daunting at first, know that it gets easier each time and, well, the results simply speak for themselves. Millions of other people have used this protocol at home to set themselves free from their frustrating health conditions so I know that it is possible for you too!
